Re: CS: GO

There is no official release date yet other than 'early 2012'.

Valve did announce however, that an open beta is 'imminent'... Who knows exactly what that means, but im guessing it could still be this year?

Re: CS: GO

Last I heard, the beta is delayed. Was supposed to be already out to a selected few by now. They are apparently still tweaking from all the feedback they have got from the pro players that tested during events.

Re: CS: GO

No, that WAS the case - Valve announced this weekend that the public Beta was IMMINENT (their exact words)

The closed Beta has been out for a while now (I have a friend in the UK who received an invite ages ago, as he is a games journalist)

They are basically (almost) ready to put out a public beta which of course, as all Beta's do, will give them even more insight as to what to tweak and/or change for the final release :)

Re: CS: GO

I don't know if people are going to want to change from CSS to CS:GO...

Exciting none the less.

I know what you're saying - a lot of people felt this way when CSS came out and didnt want to change from 1.6...hell, some STILL dont want to change.

I think GO, from what I've seen so far is enough of a change and brings enough new things to the table where CSS DIDNT...that it may intrigue a few of the 1.6'ers even.

At the end of the day, its gonna come down to the feel of the game, as is always the case with any Counter Strike game.

I dont know about you but with games like BF3 & MW3 (as much as i despise the fact its a glorified MW2 mappack) there NEEDS to be something new and fresh brought to the table to keep peoples interest in CSS and that has ALWAYS been the feel, precision and competitiveness that so many other games battle to achieve in the same way. GO looks to keep the fundamentals the same but improve or change the more subtle things. My interest is definately peeked! :D

I agree with you Ret, i certainly feel the same was as you do about the game. I need the change, CSS is becoming to monotonous for me. I think the exciting thing about GO is that everyone will be thrown into the new game with pretty much the same "knowledge level" so to speak. So every individual player has to learn and adapt to how they are going to make the new game and feel work for them.

I love BF3 but im yet to buy MW3... is it worth it??
