Writeup: What is Bravado Gaming? Bravado Gaming is a reputable and highly respected competitive e-sports organisation based in South Africa. It comprises currently of a Counter-Strike and Call of Duty 4 team, both of which are very highly ranked in the South African gaming scene. Established in 2002, as one of South Africa's oldest competitive teams, Bravado continues to go from strength to strength. With its mission to continue to grow e-sports in South Africa, Bravado Gaming, with the help of its sponsors, also hosts online events to increase participation of gamers, both casual and hardcore. Vision To constantly strive to be the best in all veins of competition while remaining in line with the three values of our philosophy: professionalism, maturity, respect. To help build the local gaming community by introducing and involving those unfamiliar with e-sports and promoting gaming as a professional sport.' The Bravado Philosophy Professionalism, Maturity, Respect Professionalism: currently the competitive gaming scene in South Africa is at a very amateur level compared to the rest of the world. In order to improve the level of seriousness in the local scene we always try our best to remain a professional outfit in the hope that others will follow our example. Maturity: all too often the name of gaming is brought down by lowly, unnecessary arguments or squabbles that diminish the good light that gaming can be seen in. We take a mature approach to everything we are involved in and do not get involved in these pointless disagreements. Respect: as the top team in South Africa we want to set the example for newer teams. We want to be exemplary in our sportsmanship and good conduct in competitions so that the local communities may grow stronger through respecting each other. History Bravado Gaming was originally established in 2002 with one of the best CS teams at the time. This makes the organization one of the oldest in South African history which still retains some of its original members. A while after that the management team recruited a DotA team who achieved great success but are no longer part of the organization. Bravado has also recently recruited a top CoD4 team, formerly known as Brazen, who they hope to take the organization to new heights with.
